+: The hyper-ambitious plot, especially for a debut. It's themes run through loss, nationalism to *broadly gestures* everything. The characters intersections happen just so that you can see it happening just right.
-: Plot happening before characters had time to breathe. Over reuse of some words. Can feel like what if Cloud Atlas, but dark?
