Done with the first book!

I’m starting to appreciate why nobody has written a full-length biography of Hughes since Pusey’s was published seventy years ago.

There’s a penciled inscription on the front flyleaf of my copy that reads, “from John Rhodes [sic] library”. I wonder whether he ever read it.
