Sankt Nikola

Martinskirche (Romerstrasse. Linz) is Austria's oldest surviving church, first mentioned in texts in 799. Excavations turned up 3rd century Roman graves. These and much of the interior (including Gothic frescoes and wooden statues) can only be seen with a guide.

Linz (Lentia) became important in Roman times due to its location near the Danube and Traun and Enns rivers, transporting iron and salt.
