I am very far behind on my reading challenge and would like to read some good but non-brain-breaking stuff when the semester is over next week. Please give me your suggestions!

(nb: no romance pls unless it's like the best thing you've ever read in your life)

Kit Ok I had a look at your favorites to see what you like (unfortunately you've already read Rebecca and that was going to be top of list, but it's ok, I've regrouped):

-Heartburn by Nora Ephron (short, funny, and slightly sad)

-Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy (my book club just assigned this for Dec--we all have pretty different taste and so far 3/3 of us very much enjoyed. There's a LOT going on and it requires a heavy suspension of disbelief throughout, but it's moody, about re-wilding the environment/conservation, set in the Scottish highlands, emotional, and it's stuck with me, which is a good sign... lots of tws though!) Also short and quick to get through for that GR goal.

-The Dutch House by Ann Patchett (I find Patchett so readable, very helpful when my brain is fragile! I don't want to say too much about this besides it's good and a little sad.)

-No One Asked for this by Cazzie David (I realize this is a huge long shot, but I couldn't put it down ((David's a genuinely good writer)) and a nice distraction from Real Problems, which can be fun/necessary after end of semester madness. Another pro is that it isn't sad, which some people like??

Ahh thank you so much! I've been meaning to read Once There Were Wolves actually so I'll bump it to the top of my list based on this. And I love Ann Patchett too--I'll definitely check these out!
