Perry seems suspiciously reminiscent of Hal from Infinite Jest, written by Franzen's good friend David Foster Wallace. But so far, a strong five star up until page 300. Hitting some melodrama now and a cliche, scarecrow representation of Christianity, but I'm hopeful the distaste will wash out soon.
