Thompson lost the plot of his own book. Not often one can identify the exact page when a good story crashes and burns. In this case it occurs on page 177. Downhill from there.

Yeh my feeling as well. Reading w group and same response from all. First 1/3 is really good then Thompson just starts throwing ideas on the page with no rhyme or reason.
