I’m not much of a fan of these contemporaries marketed as fantasy. I suppose this would be considered historical fiction “fantasy” since it’s set in Victorian England. But there’s hardly any fantasy elements too it. The characters talk about magic and there are some magical bits and pieces tossed in there. But it’s just not very interesting. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I expected way more from this one.
