It is finally decided to remove Sophia from the presence of Sir Charles. There are very strong themes of familial connection: it is not because of Sophia has a high regard for her sister that she allows advice from her, but rather because she has a "right" due to her being family. This is also seen in her interactions with her mother.

Sir Charles is a chameleon: he attempts to become as Sophia, to gain Sophia's heart; he gives her gifts, etc. He loves her truly, and her innate virtue, so says our author, strikes his conscience, when he recognizes that he loves her for that virtue, and wants, by the nature of his advances, to corrupt it.

Odd that Sophia talks so little--is this intentional by author for to show her modesty? The use of Paradise Lost herein is very well done. The Baronet, Charles, is immediately in love with Sophia; does this mean his passions, engaged, as before, in lewd and immoral conduct, shall be changed, too?

Sophia is fluent in French, Italian, and English; has read the best of the best books; is very capable of arranging her time properly; and has a good intellect. She is also domestic. Her sister fancies herself a high-class lady, wishes to marry for money, is beautiful, etc., etc.
