Giant alien bugs mixed with the Golden Age of Hollywood? I like it!

I love the author's notes at the end of each story. "Pansolapia" wasn't exactly an accessible one, and it seems Ford is aware of this: "The story was published by Ellen Datlow on Event Horizon, which I thought was pretty courageous on her part. I had a feeling that most who read it would shake their heads and say, 'What the f***?' And that's pretty much what they did."

I just read the title story and LOVED it... much more accessible and emotionally engaging than the first two tales. So I think I'll keep going with this collection.
