Welp, it is nearly the end of 2021 and I did not manage to cook each recipe in chronological order as I had planned, or cook at all. Isa had set up the chapters as building blocks so that each one introduces a new skill and I got reallyyyy stuck on ch. 2 because I HATE SALADS. Today, I am going to allow myself to SKIP over to ch. 3 (sandwiches) and go out Right Now to make myself a tempeh beet reuben no matter what!

After a rough Feb of almost not cooking at all, today I finally made it through chapter 1: pastas & noodles! My favorite dishes were the angel hair tapenade with tofu and arugula, lentil walnut bolognese, and penne vodka. Each recipe was a novel evening with myself and a podcast. Bought my 1st eggplant and zucchini (googling an image of the latter at my grocery store) and stuffing the manicotti gave me a few giggles.

I didn't really wanna add a cookbook on here, but why not. Since late Oct, this has been such a supportive friend in the kitchen 🥰. I can't stress enough what a poor relationship I had to food prior (pizza, bags of chips, absurd amount spent on dining out, fearful of potlucks, also wasn't vegetarian). Yesterday, I had the sudden inspiration to cook each recipe in chronological order, so I'm excited for 2021!
