Reading this novel must be similar to the experience of climbing Mount Everest…it seems like it takes forever and is often painful, but you've got so much invested in it that you've got to struggle on to the finish. Oh, it is exciting and has its beautiful moments, that's for sure, but I think the author missed lots of possible shortcuts on the way.
