Really great read that offers a much-needed critical perspective, especially in regard to how these places have mobilized indigenous and anti-capitalist narratives while simultaneously expanding exploitation, expropriation, and dispossession. However, would have appreciated more expansive discussions of other countries since the book mostly focused on Venezuela and Bolivia.

Decided to pick this up because I've truly become tired of the lack of critical analysis of the Global South from a socialist perspective. I've only gotten through the introduction, but so far this is excellent. Seems like it'll be mostly diving into Venezuela and Bolivia, with some chapters on Ecuador, Brazil, and Mexico as well. This appears particularly relevant given the recent electoral landscape in LatAm.
