This is so enjoyable. It has spurred me to listen carefully to the quartets that didn't greatly appeal on first hearing. I'm currently discovering number five and it's nightmarish juxtaposition of the blithe and the terrifying. Someone described it like setting out on a stroll, turning the corner and finding that the tanks have opened fire on the civilians.

The Beethoven Quartet recordings currently top of my list.
