I'm almost done with the Villehardouin chronicle, and it is great to read a first-hand account from the 13th C. The account is quite neutral, obviously, without a lot of commentary or analysis--though at times you can hear his criticism come through, and the idea of a powerful actor in those events writing them down is amazing.
