Alexa This happens to me all the time -.- Use a random generator number!

message 5: by Jess (new)

Jess Yes. The dilemma is even worse with the owned-not-yet-read pile..

message 6: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Ah... Thankfully I do not have that pile, or at least is a very very small one. Since I tend to get digital copies or just borrow from friends so I either read what's on my hands or just pick something and buy it immediately after.

message 7: by Anzû (new)

Anzû I could go random or I could just read the stuff I bought. Easy. BUT I'm in a picky mood so nothing's good enough. Sadness.

I'll go back to staring at the damn list -_-

message 8: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Hmm... I know that mood. When I'm like that I always end up picking something short and easy. Usually bad chick lit :/

Anzû This: Donners of the Dead by Karina Halle

I presume so. The other thing is Midnight's Daughter (Dorina Basarab, #1) by Karen Chance .

Not a fan of Urban Fantasy?

message 19: by Alexa (last edited May 12, 2014 02:04PM) (new)

Alexa I actually love Urban Fantasy! I'm just not quite sure about Dracula and "gorgeous master vampire Louis-Cesare" I might be mistaken tho!

As a side note, why do vampires always have French names? And what's with the hyphenation of the name? I swear I'll always be thankful to Charlaine Harris for calling her vampire Bill.

Aly is so frigging bored The dude is actually French :D and was inspired by a real historical person... And Vlad from this series is actually Vlad the Impaler not Dracula.. The same for Mircea and other characters.

message 21: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Hmm That explains the hyphen then, I swear French love those things. But why can't it be a lowly peasant and be just called Louis? And why French! I want a German vampire! *nod*

And who's Mircea? Now I'm going to have to read the book!

I think Donners of the Dead too.

Mircea is Vlad's elder brother and Dorina's dad and it's very complicated to explain everything :))) But I swear, it's very interesting. One of the things love about this author is that if she uses a historical figure as basis for a character she actually does research! And she's one of the few who uses Romanian phrases and sentences right[I am so very picky on that :D]

My father goes to a dentist named Mircea. Knowing the origin of the name (ancestor of Vlad Tepes) when I first saw it made me go "whaa?"

But turns out hes pretty gentle--for a dentist.

Anzû I tried Donners of the Dead and managed to read five chapters. Got bored and put it aside. I'll try this Dracula nonsense next.
