"Polygamy is banned throughout much of the world, & the United Nations Human Rights Committee, which has said that “polygamy violates the dignity of women,” called for it to “be definitely abolished wherever it continues to exist.”It is legal in Muslim countries except Turkey & Tunisia also in Congo, Zambia & Uganda which are Christian, I'd like to read a report of polygamy v monogamy for happiness of the men & women

I always find it questionable when laws protect the “dignity” of women, as if dignity is an objective, measurable quality.

But as long as men want to tell women what to do and to use them and even trade them (which is essentially what historical polygamy is all about) then laws are needed and it doesn't matter what you call them. I'm seeing the destruction of these laws very much right now and don't know what will be put in their place.
