third book in the trilogy, Lilys plight' finds Lily in the ending stage of her being a bond servant for Johns' wife as Lily is the caretaker for the family with his wife Susans' illness.

the plantation owned by the Barclays were planning a horse race event, dinner and a ball at the plantation. Mariah was so looking forward to the event. Mrs. Barclay reduced Mariah to humiliation as she required her to replace her as a kitchen servant. since a servant had become ill with measles. Mariah was planning to find out if that really was the case,

Colin, son of the Barclays has to leave the plantation for quite awhile for business with the horses they raise and sell. Will colins' mother, Cora, be a thorn in Mariahs side, even more, now, that he is gone.

in the second book in this trilogy, "Mariahs Quest' mariah should be in her glory as a bond servant/tutor for three sisters for a plantation homestead. However, the mother of the plantation plans to make life uncomfortable for Mariah. Even having plain, simple dresses made for her as uniforms, to really, not entice her son, Collin in her servanthood. as they come into contact quite often.
