how carelessly Stephen King used "QUEER" & "FAGGOT" in this book is pretty offensive. Plus so far all the female characters are very poorly written. All so called male.fantasies (!) and describing (read objectifying) them is extremely sexist. I dunno how I feel about that.

Also already 100 pages in. no supernatural /paranormal activities so far. Ik It's overly detailed, slow paced but still...........

Writing controlled fiction is called “plotting.” Buckling your seatbelt and letting the story take over, however…that is called “storytelling.” Storytelling is as natural as breathing; plotting is the literary version of artificial respiration.
trust I can rave hours about only how gorgeously Stephen King writes his introductions. I've such a high hope for it (🤞)

Maisha Farzana 😑😑. I was planning to read this book. Are the main characters homophobes? Then I won't read it.

Maisha, it's from a side character's pov. Though yk It's nkt uncommon for Stephen King. Even in IT, The Shinning there was several cases of micro aggression, queerphobia and sexism. -_-

Preeti Tiash, sad but it's such a common issue with many authors of earlier generations. I love Agatha Christie books but you can't read them and not see this type of stereotyping. Mostly in their attitude towards Commonwealth countries.🤔🤔
