I started this book on New Years Day and just finished it today. I have recently started writing short stories rather than just novels and I wanted to read some old ones to get a sense of some that have stood the test of time. These were a great introduction to this different length of writing, and I hope that I can give it some justice. I'm sure it will go much faster than the books did last year. The books in this compilation are from the 19th century, but they stand up very well.
