This book was difficult to start, given the unique and historical writing style. I’m so glad I stuck it through because I was rewarded for doing so. Clarke’s magic was trippy yet serene. Her characters came to life and at times were extremely unlikable (which adds to their depth). I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys English history and literature as well as fantasy.
