If Hutch was sent to jail, I think it would be for trespassing. The baseball field he plays at by his house is beat up, maybe he wants to explore a new one. Hutch might make a mistake by accidentally trespassing a field of grass that somebody else owns.

If I were stuck on an island, I'd want Cody with me. Cody is always positive, never negative, which means that he'd bring our confidence up by finding ways to escape. Plus, he's funny, only when he doesn't try to be.

The author called this book The Big Field, because the whole point of the book is about these 13 year old kids who face 18 year old kids, to reach the State Finals and play at Sun Life Stadium home of the Miami Marlins (Florida Marlins of 2012)

The problem is that Darryl thinks he's the best in the league. He's got to get it through his skull that he's not the best player on the team. I do not think he will ever realize that though.

My favorite character in my book is Hutch. Not because he's the main character. It's because he is a smart, humble baseball player, who doesn't act like he's the best in the state. He is a great teammate in the dugout and a true pal outside of the field.

All that my main character wants to achieve is the state championship. He loves baseball more than anything, and all he wants is to win the Florida State Championship, and he is only 2 games away. In order to win the championship, he needs to put away the side distractions.
