Did I decide to "just read the first couple chapters" at 11pm last night because I wasn't ready to sleep, then accidentally read until almost 2am & had to make myself stop? ...maybe. XD Laura's style is easy to read--more straightforward and non-frilly, which is often what I prefer, but especially after struggling with the dense, ornate prose of my last read, this is refreshing. (Also Shianan is a prickly mess, lol)
