Omg, MC2 is so full of douchebaggery, so unbelievably arrogant and dickish, that he's likeable simply because he's an astounding asshat who makes me laugh.

I do like the alternating first person POVs. Wonderful to see inside both their stupendously stupid heads. And I mean that in the most affectionate way. Also, check out this: "I was trying to stand up and walk away in high dudgeon." In high dungeon! Who uses this idiom? And I adore it!

Xander talks and thinks like a stereotypical immature 18-year-old. Girl, that is. But... he's a salty chip; I can't stop reading him. And I like him. Even if he is outrageously flaky.

Okay! Back from work, just settled in with a cold beer (figured that'd go better with this book than gin or wine). Ready to read me some addictive ridiculous. By the by, my reading cohorts, is there a better Mercy Celeste novel? (Love her name.) All her blurbs sound so damn good, but... I dunno... something's off.
