Disclaimers: I have lived in Alabama for all of my 25 years and never have I called anyone darlin', nor have I been called darlin' unless it was by an 87 year old cashier. Also, I am perfectly capable of pronouncing the letter 'g'. Just so y'all know that this book is wildly overdramatic. I really want to like this book, but I'm finding more offensive than enjoyable.

I am both intrigued and slightly scared to read this! If it's done correctly then I feel like it will be a great read, since I happen to be an Alabama girl and fan. But the author is from England, and from previous experiences Brits tend to think southerners still live and speak as if it is 1876. I'll give it a shot, though and let y'all know how it goes.
