Ooh this one is going to be an angsty second chance romance. There seems to be some miscommunication between Alice and Ivan. I’m still blown away by that prologue though. Didn’t expect such tragedy to befall her so soon. I also didn’t expect Alice to be Caleb Jones’ daughter. I didn’t even know he had family… Anyway, I can’t wait to read more later!

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I am such a huge fan of Charmaine Pauls that it pains me to say that this was really frustrating to read because the characters resolved their problems through sex. Why?! That's not a healthy at all. Ivan and Alice are in a very toxic relationship. The man couldn't even say he LOVES her for crying out loud. However, the ending made up for it so this was a solid read.

Cain and his team finally made an appearance!!! I've been waiting for this moment since there was so much animosity and resentment from Ivan and disappointment from Alice because her father left her and never looked back. While Ivan is personally not my favorite type of hero, I do enjoy his moments of angst towards Alice. :) He's one of those bad boy musicians...

I feel like Ivan doesn't really deserve Alice... like no offense, but you didn't even fight for her and assumed that she agreed with her dad? What the heck. And Alice assumed stuff about Ivan too. It's such a mess so of course they had to add sex into the mix. I am invested in their relationship though... it just makes me mad that Ivan treats Alice like she OWES him when both are at fault. Did you ever love her?
