Superman by JC Stein left me still unconnected w the characters and not really caring about the story or what happened. No real butt kicks either. One star. Monster mash by Carole Nelson Douglas I did not finish. It's just that bad. Or boring is more correct. My advice on this one is 3 names may make you a serial killer candidate but not a writer.

Cheyenne McCray wrote double dead. It's good as a short story, good characters and action. It's missing some element I just can't find. Maybe it's just her style I don't enjoy. Either way it was a great story made good. 3 stars.

Jenna Black wrote nine tenths of the law. It's good enough but I think it was missing a couple elements, tho I could only pinpoint 1. It belongs in a book called chicks who know a lot of people who kick butt. I think I'd like a full novel or even a novelette better from this author. We will go w 3stars

P.N.Elrod wrote Vampires prefer Blondes It reminded me if those true detective stories in a 1960 or 70 magazine. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm going to look for this author. I'll start w 1 book, see how it goes. Sometimes an author is better at one short stories or novels and the fun doesn't translate. 4⭐

This story was a Lilith Saintcrow piece, that held her stamp on it. Like most stories by LSC it is not for everyone. She has a style that some who prefer modern lit. Don't usually like, but that I love. It's descriptive emotionally without getting bogged down in words. Even tho I was not familiar with the world it's set in I loved it. 5 stars

Story by Rachel Vincent 4 stars New author to me but I liked the story. It took me on a short trip, left me satisfied yet wanting a bit more.. Good job.

Karen Chance wrote the second story. I'm not familiar with her tho the style seems to ring a brain chime. I liked the story but it didn't seem to have a point. Just sort of seemed like a couple chapters pulled from the middle if a book. It would be a 4 star story but I'm knocking it down to 3 because there was no beginning or end. Just a damn fine middle...

1st story is a weather warden story. Not bad, but if you didn't know the author is capable of delivery, this story would not have you searching her out.
