I finished it!!! I finally finished it. :)

Unsurprisingly, Melville builds the suspense forever. I am ready for this whale to arrive!

Over halfway through!

Still magnificent. I'm reading the paperback copy I got at the library because I fear that it hasn't ever been read and I feel bad for it.

Chap 12 The infamous inserting the author's opinions into the character backstory. We get it Melville. I think they even got it back then. Got to give it up to Shmoop who is spot on as ever. Also someone pointed out that MD is the 1st gay marriage in American literature. I assume classics, but possibly all of writing too I guess. It is also interracial. Proof that if a book has the right rep, you can get away w/at.

It's inevitable: it's happened. I am rereading (and reading) MD at the same time! I started over at the beginning and couldn't stop I of course recommend reading it (what I consider the proper way): online (Gutenberg has it), with POWER MOBY DICK and Shmoop up on other tabs. That's right everyone! I'm reading Moby Dick again, picking up where I left off. The last chapter I remember is 87 (an exceptional chapter involving a pod of whales) hence the page number. I am reading it (as you should) on Project Gutenburg, where you can click on words you don't know and follow the ship's progress on Google Maps. Already come across a cool new location. And yes, I really enjoy this book.
