”Tor was the hottest part of a flame, but Ash was the wildest. The red, pulsing fingers that sought and destroyed, grabbed and burned.”
This is supposed to be the inner musings of Ash about the way she looks with a red dress on. Who thinks like this about themselves?

Okay I’m quitting now. There are too many idiotic literary sins being committed in this one chapter it’s making me want to throw the whole book into the deepest pits of hell.

This book is utter nonsense. The authors seem to suddenly have forgotten their own plot in their desperate attempt to create a crisis between the two main characters. I would stop reading this book right now if only I had anything else lined up.

”Whatever fight had gone on in place of his must have ended quickly, and in a bloody mess. The crowds always loved those the best.”
They really don’t. Little stuff like this keeps taking me out of the story…

It seems the author didn’t take the time to research professional martial artists or fights for this book. The ”gladiators” apparently just go into the arena without warming up. Great way to pull a muscle on your first jab.
