Please tell me that isn't an actual word for word quote from the book. If we need science and surveys to tell people that then common sense, ettiquit, and basic understanding of any human are going out the window.

No, I admit, that's me being dramatic. But it is the spirit of much of this advice. A lot of this is basic professionalism.
