What is fun is that even in the calmer moments between 'AHA!' flashes, the narrative following our freezing sleuth (and his cold-adverse Volvo) never, e-ver gets dull. There is such a well of reflection and wits that, unusual for a mystery book, you do NOT wish to hurry to the last pages and unmask the 'whodunit'. Because that would mean taking leave of the town of Chinook and its gallery of colorful characters.
