I have just finished the first essay in this anthology, "Letter to a Faraway Friend." Frankly, I am blown away. Cioran was clearly a rare soul - whose in-born pessimism has a robust creativity quite unlike anything I've ever read. I've never before seen my own internal doubts and thoughts about Western society put down so clearly on paper.
