Nick's kind of a douche.

Yooooo. I am vibing with the giddiness.

I had braced myself ... I imagined us arguing about whether or not it was a choice. I imagined them crying hysterically and blaming themselves, as if my faults were caused by something they had done. I imagined them scolding me for entertaining the idea of homosexuality. But no. None of that came. Instead, what I got was far worse:

They left me alone.

“Well, Erik, you do have a couple of tendencies,” she begins with a sigh. “When you talk, your hands dance at the wrist, you always speak with an upward inflection, and whenever you answer a phone call, you’re always greeted with a, ‘Good afternoon, Ma’am.’”
“You’re the only person that does that to me, Mackenzie.”
“Well, it’s always really confusing when I hear a woman answer your phone.”

“Brenda invited me over to have sex, but she couldn’t get me hard, so she broke up with me,” I explain, my words coming out quick and pointed. “Have a nice life.” I pat Mr. Lee on his shoulder before squeezing past him, his wife, and his younger daughter, Bebe.
