Thomas and the gladers are in the scorch, surrounded by cranks and are still facing the variables. They've made a deal with Brenda and Jorge to keep them safe while they make their way to the safe haven. Thomas has been saved by wicked from a bullet wound and is declared to be the "real" leader. However, he is captured by group B and Teresa wants to kill him.

The glanders are still being tested for whatever they are going to do. So far, Thomas and everyone else have encountered near starvation, dehydration, dead bodies hanging from the ceiling and then them vanishing strangely, being locked up in a single room, the windows being completely bricked within minutes, the scary zombie people outside, Teresa being taken, and a strange man in a white suit.

(Last was for April 18 and this one is for April 25) The boys find a person names Aris in the room where Teresa was supposed to be living in. Thomas can't connect with her telepathically and apparently there is a group B in the WICKED project. The group B is the exact same things that the boys went through, except for they are all girls.

(Absent when we did this review) The sequel to The Maze Runner is so far exciting yet scary. The place they were about to call safe is now being attacked by victims of the flare. There are dead bodies hanging in one of the rooms and Teresa is missing. I am so overjoyed to be reading this book and I can't wait to keep reading!
