An endless hallucinatory dreamscape . . . nothing since reading Ducornet comes close. Can Young really keep this up for the next 1000+ pages?

". . . the king's horsemen, the life-sized chessmen seeming to move against the moving clouds that moved above the moving waters, the sea light lighting their wooden eyes, the seagulls perched like drifts of snow upon their heads."

Simon Robs I did not connect with this one (read it) and gave it away hoping the next reader will :)

Michael Kuehn I find its effect on me like a waking dream, trance-like once I've found the hypnotic rhythm of the prose-chant. I don't know where it's going, or if it will continue to seduce me. . . so far it has me. A unique experience for sure.

Simon Robs I get you; I really should have given it some time then a reread. A good winter read maybe - haha, it snowed here in Texas today!
