Thrown off because the author threw in a quote from Sigmund Freud, which may have been relevant but isn’t uncommon, so it would have been specifically chosen from Sigmund Freud on purpose(context clues in book and Sigmund’s theories as well).
I greatly disagree with several of Freuds theories, specifically ones that might pertain to the situations the characters in this book face.
So it makes me nervous.
