As a leftie, and as someone who's been interested in the topic most of my life, I'm finding this pretty compelling (sometimes eerily so)... but also somehow EVEN MORE depressing than I'd expected.

Anyway, still some fascinating new-to-be tidbits in here thus far, and though I'd love to see a new edition or something (that's not twenty years old), it's great to have all of this research right here in one place. (Also I hadn't realized the extent to which basically ALL of the world's major religious traditions fulminate against left-handedness and, y'know, the concept of Left in general. Creepy.)

What's funny is that as I started reading this, I was struck by how familiar--how SPECIFICALLY familiar--I was with a lot of these statistics and theories surrounding left-handedness. And then it occurred to me: this book was published in 1992, and I'm pretty sure that all the stuff I was devouring about handedness in the late '90s/early '00s was... just secondary sources relaying Coren's findings here.
