Ok, I’m going to have to skim the first third of this book to reorient myself. The writing was rather dense for me, so I kept falling out of the mood, but I’m going to commit to finish, and yes I’m adjusting the start date. It can’t look like I took 9 months to read a book.

I am now rolling through. Should finish tonight or tomorrow. I actually started the whole thing again. I was going to skim the first third, but really focused in and paid close attention, so my mind wouldn’t wander as it did on the initial pass through. So, now I’ve been locked in for two days and feeling good that the end is in sight. Yay!

That makes sense, 'Corregidora' I found quite intense and complex. But read it in a group which helped.

Intense is a good description for Gayl Jones’ writing.
