The pace of this fourth book is more plodding than the previous ones. I get the feeling that Martin is introducing characters and getting his pieces into position for a new flurry of excitement. Although the pace is slower his writing is still worthy of admiration.

The war between my closing eyes and the magic of the page has been narrowly won by the ocular contingent. Interesting new players are being introduced to the game and I can't wait to see what impact they're going to have on the story and the more established cast of characters. #sleepybuthappybookworm

Assumptions are turned on their head in the space of a chapter - deftly written as always. *contented bookworm*
