Ok serious question book geeks. What is so good about a Kindle Fire? as someone who is pretty stupid when it comes to tech stuff. what else does it do besides be an ereader? and what the hell is the difference between a Fire HD, HDX and whatever besides the $ difference. Its my bday soon and I think I want one!

I have both a Kindle Fire HD and HDX and they both act pretty darn close if not better then my kids 2 Ipads. Screen is smaller, but video is better. Droid based apps that you'd use on a tablet or cell phone work on the kindles. I print, email, skype, facebook and work on excel spread sheets all via my Fires. Instead of traveling with my laptop when away I use my Fire. Think of it as a tablet with a great ereader too. I also can easily fit the Fire in my purse. Between HD and HDX I don't see much difference. HDX is faster but all in all the options are much the same. Happy Birthday!

The HDX is faster for gaming, has a better camera, more memory space, and a bigger display. The HD and HDX both run the same software. If you're in to all the extras then pick the HDX, if not the HD is still awesome for books, netflix and internet. It's more of a preference and price choice lol.
