Thus far, I'm enjoying the book, being a marine biologist myself. I love how the author brings the abyssal planes of the Mariana Trench to life. However, I'm more intrigued than petrified. Not sure if that's a bad thing, though.

Loving the author's writing style so far - it's simple, expressive, and well-written. I do get a bit lost with all the technical jargon sometimes, though. And though I am enjoying the story thus far, I feel that the action is taking a bit too long to pick up. Still going to stick with it, though. The main character is quite relatable.
