Not good. We spent 87 pages out of 192 going through a speedrun of Richard II's usurpation and Henry IV's entire reign, in which neither emerged as a character. More attention was paid to the Yorks including a "wow look how strong baby Richard Duke of York is!!" scene. Don't like how Henry V is characterised either and weird things like 8 year old Humphrey (future Duke of Gloucester) perving on women 😬

What is it with these older books and children exhibiting inappropriate sexuality? Like. 8 is before puberty. And who thought this was okay anyway.

Seriously. It's only one line but EW GOD NO WHO WANTS TO READ THAT. I suspect the answer is "it's foreshadowing for him being a horndog in Henry VI's minority" - as if his 8 year old self is the only version of him that appears in the book and as if that's a vital plot point.
