Thor Weberson At last, on 2 July 1776, the Continental Congress passed a motion to declare independence from British rule unanimously (with only New York abstaining)! With the final draft of the Declaration of Independence approved on, of course, 4 July 1776, and a new nation is born on the American Continent with slim chances of surviving as it wages a war with the most powerful military on the face of the globe with the resources of a world-spanning empire behind it.

Meanwhile...

General George Washington has forced the British to abandon Boston and prepares fortification of Manhattan while the British land in force.

Almost at the end of the book with seven years of Revolutionary War to go (and 238 years since)... Sequel(s)?

Thor Weberson That's... "British land in force... ON LONG ISLAND."
