I probably have have looked at reviews before I picked this up. I'm only eleven pages in and so far the editing mistakes are embarrassingly elementary: contractions instead of possessives, redundant prepositions ('to which [pronoun] [verbed] to') really sticks in my craw and more. I don't mind the idea of a history based on exploring fragments of legends but I'm already doubting that this author is the one to trust.
