The innuendo is so OTT & reminding me of SNL. I'm now imagining all the scenes as SNL skits. I can't take this book seriously. The author's serious intent writing this book (she's taking herself seriously) combined with her injection of the cheesy humour is making this weird.

The way the cult leader speaks, "Yes sugar, suck it all," reminds me of Dana Carvey. I don't think this is a good thing - as much as I love Dana Carvey that's not who I want to picture when reading erotic horror. I think the author means this to be funny but it's this OTT cheesy humour that's also reminding me of Austin Powers.
