Trevor allowed himself a moment to give in to his need for this woman. She opened for him for the first time since their nightmare had ended. He poured all the love he felt for this woman into that one, slow kiss. After a few glorious moments, he pulled away and whispered, “I love you, too, angel.” Surprisingly, Lexi’s shoulders shook with a light chuckle. “Not exactly the reaction I was expecting.”

That would explain why he’d been her shadow every second of every day since he’d found her in that awful warehouse. Trevor had been doting and kind the entire time.
