Issue #17 -
Buffy meets a Council of rag-tag members of demons, witches and higher beings who have banded together to protect the last bits of magic left on Earth.
They enlist Bs to help stop Severin, the Siphon! They also bring along Eldre Koh, who hadn’t left things on the best of terms with Buffy.
Meanwhile, Billy was given an idea on how to find Buffy then Dawn’s sickness gets a lot worse…

I actually got a reason why Xander was so different!
Xander reflects on those he’s lost & been unable to help. All he thinks he can do now is watch… until a pair of not great people give him a very tempting offer to no longer be ‘useless’.
While Xander agrees to something he’ll probably regret later on, a trusted friend returns to San Fran, right in time to help Dawn…

Issue #19 -
The Council, afraid they’ll lose the precious magic they have left, flee after Illyria’s plan fails.
Buffy goes back to San Francisco to learn of Dawn’s grim fate. Xander takes no time at all to make Buffy feel guilty about.
I'm not liking Xander in this volume. He’s very aggressive and agitated. I hope they explain the exact reason for it.
Plus there's a brief flash to Simone Doffler and her plans…

No one seems to know what exactly is wrong with Dawn. Andrew’s brilliant idea is to break her out of the hospital!
Buffy and Illyria find out Severin wants the Old One’s powers for while Billy makes a discovery of his own.
This volume so far feels very… simple. Like, there’s not a whole bunch of plots going all at once.

Buffy may have caught a breakthrough right before she is teleported to… L.A.!
Who still has the power to teleport people to them for a mysterious mission… Illyria!
