I am enjoying the mystery so far. I like the subdued horror elements. I'm still not seeing the preaching that other reviews mentioned. I'm beginning to think the times when the Catholic girl justifies what she's doing is being considered preaching.

I read several reviews before starting this book. Many of them said it's too long, too slow, too preachy. Many of those same reviews said the beginning is good.
I'm only at 8 percent, but I can say the latter is accurate. I'm enjoying the book so far.
