Suspense is building. Will she break with tradition to save her son??

Am about halfway through the novel. It is becoming increasingly more dramatic as the protagonist has to cope with an alcoholic husband who is corrupting her child.

This novel is an audiobook which I listen to whilst on the treadmill. Anne Bronte has a clear and concise style very different from Charlotte and Emily. A strong feminist message is coming through and convention are indeed challenged. Novel keeps me motivated to exercise.
