Overall really loved so much of this one! I had a few issues with it though, especially towards the end. Still the emotional pull was strong for me here and one reveal towards the end gutted me ALMOST enough to cry. Almost.

I love how Charis Michaels writes her heroines. I seriously adore every one of them. I want to be friends with them. She also does a lot of 'rescue plots' reminisce of Mary Balogh that I adore. I'm liking this one so far. The heroine was 19 when she married a 64 year old man. Now a widow, her step son is trying to control her and she's looking for freedom.
