The magic of dogs~
I went into the living room with my ice pack and slumped down on the couch. Grumpy jumped up in my lap, and I put my arms around him. I’d never had a dog growing up. I hadn’t realized how comforting it was to hold a furry body in your arms when you felt depressed. If wasn’t like Grumpy could talk or tell me words of wisdom. But just having his warm energy near me was soothing.

Ah, truth~
I forced myself to get out on the dance floor with Royce, even though I loathed dancing. This was the new me. From now on, I’d try my best to do the things Royce wanted to, because he did that for me. Healthy couple supported each other by sharing activities.
I’d read that online, so it had to be true.

The point of life~
“You sound like a psychologist, Sheriff.”
“Hardly. But I do think people get too caught up in what they think they should be doing, & lose track of what the point of life is.”
“What is the point of life?”
I laughed sheepishly. “I have no idea. But I think being happy should be one of our most important goals. Don’t you? Otherwise, why are we slogging along?”
“Yeah. I guess you’re right.”
